Crazy Horse Paris Review: Why You NEED To Go To This Paris Burlesque Show
Paris is known for many things — the Eiffel tower, delicious cheese and wine, and more art than you could ever possibly see in a year. But it also has a vibrant nightlife scene, and if you’re looking for romantic things to do in Paris (even on your own!), Le Crazy Horse Paris should be on your list.
My family is French, so I visit every year (most recently by booking business class on points on Air Tahiti), and this is still one of my favorite activities in Paris. Burlesque shows are an art form in France and my Crazy Horse Paris review will break down exactly why this show is unmissable (though you absolutely have to book in advance because it sells out quickly).
If it’s not on your itinerary yet, add it now, and get ready for a sexy night of music, art, and just a bit of tasteful nudity.
What is the Crazy Horse Paris?

Le Crazy Horse is a legendary Parisian cabaret featuring 12 stunning dancers performing around 21 avant-garde numbers that mix sensuality, artistry, and hypnotic lighting effects.
Founded in 1951 by Alain Bernardin, it’s a cabaret show, put on in an intimate venue, that has perfected the art of burlesque with a signature blend of precise choreography, high-fashion styling, and a cheeky dose of French allure.
If you’re going to Le Crazy Horse Paris, you can expect mesmerizing performances, plenty of strategic lighting magic, and a show that’s as much about the aesthetic as it is about the tease.
The Theater and Where To Have Dinner Before The Show

The Crazy Horse theater is right in Paris’s Golden Triangle by the Seine, so it’s fairly centrally located in the city. We stopped for a quick dinner before the show at Chez Francis next door, where we had an incredible view of the Eiffel Tower.
The theater itself is a very intimate venue that I would guess seats fewer than 100 people, so you’re very close to the stage no matter where you sit. I also loved the interior decor – the mirrored walls, the winding staircase, the red velvet floors – it’s a pretty sensual vibe.
Crazy Horse Paris Review: What’s the Show Like?

I would recommend arriving at the theater 45 minutes ahead so you can get a good seat. Unless you’ve booked a table, all the seats are first-come first-served, and some have better views than others.
I booked a basic seat and the view was just a bit obstructed. I ended up asking the host if we could upgrade to a table with a better view, but at that point it was €100 more and out of my budget. This is why I honestly think booking a table ahead of time is worth it.
Once seated, they have an extensive cocktail and wine menu, or you can always follow my lead and opt for a classy glass of champagne.
If you’ve never been to a burlesque show before, I can’t emphasize enough how much the Crazy Horse Paris is a form of art.
Yes, there’s nudity, and I was in awe over the dancers’ bodies, but that’s really not the sole focus. The performances are incredible, the lighting is both colorful and creative and plays a major role in the show, as does the music. To this day the soundtrack is one of my favorite playlists on Spotify.
There were 21 different dance numbers, an incredibly talented MC, and even an act by a pair of hilarious tap dancing (male) twins that had everyone on their feet applauding.
I took my boyfriend as an anniversary present (because I’m awesome and he’s lucky) but I think this would be a great activity whether you’re on your honeymoon in Paris or on a solo trip.
All told, it’s a 90-minute experience and I can’t wait to go back.
How Much Are Tickets?
Tickets start from about $130 and you have to book them in advance (keep in mind the show is ages 16+). Crazy Horse sells out about a month before, so you absolutely need to plan ahead.
There are two seating types in the theater:
- Central-seating couches that come with champagne or two drinks
I chose general seating, and while it was still a fantastic show, our view was slightly obstructed. If I were to do it again, I’d pay $20 more for the central couch seating (and champagne!).
No matter what you pick, it’s worth every penny and I will absolutely be making my way back.
What Should You Wear to the Crazy Horse Paris?

Visiting the Crazy Horse cabaret is a special night and you should dress up for it. You don’t need to be in a ballgown, but it should feel like a date night and you should not plan on arriving in shorts and sneakers or flip flops after a long day of touristing. Trust me, you’ll want to snap a few photos and it’s worth it to (at least sort of) look the part.
Moulin Rouge or Crazy Horse?
If you’re looking for Paris burlesque shows, you’re basically choosing between the Moulin Rouge and Crazy Horse. While I’ve only been to Crazy Horse, I chose to see it first for a reason. Moulin Rouge is an incredible spectacle akin to what you might see in a Las Vegas show. Crazy Horse is much more intimate, much more sensual, and honestly just more French experience.
Now, that’s absolutely not to say you shouldn’t see the Moulin Rouge (I’ll be going this year!). If you’re looking for large stages and flashy dance numbers, definitely check out the Moulin Rouge. If you’re looking for something more understated (but still undeniably sexy) check out the Crazy Horse Paris.
Is the Crazy Horse Paris Worth It?

Yes. Hands-down I would recommend this to pretty much anyone. The Crazy Horse Paris was probably one of my favorite things to do in France, and definitely the best burlesque show I’ve ever seen. Add it to your list, enjoy, and please send me a photo if you buy one of their famous wigs.
Cheers to your next adventure 🇫🇷
